South Medford Interchange Project
Road to a new interchange tapped years of research, public debate
How did the selected alternative get selected??

The project’s Citizens Advisory Committee and Solution Team agreed on a design for South Medford’s Interstate 5 interchange after more than three years of study, community input and a thorough review of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.

Decision-makers agreed that the plan offers the community the best options for traffic, the best use of land and tax dollars and would be best suited to the surrounding areas.

The Solution Team’s decision was then forwarded to Oregon Department of Transportation management and, in turn, to the Oregon Transportation Commission and Federal Highway Administration, which has the final responsibility to the project.
