New Interchange Opens
The new south Medford interchange opened to traffic Thursday, July 16.
The last stage in the $70 million project kicked off the next morning with the closure and demolition of the Barnett Rd. Bear Creek Bridge.
Wildish Standard Paving is working double shifts to get Barnett Rd. and the new bridge complete as soon as possible.
Local and interstate bound traffic will need to use the new interchange, instead of Barnett Rd., to cross from east to west Medford.

Access will be kept open to the six Barnett Rd./Alba Dr. businesses.
The South Medford Interchange Project is vital to the City of Medford. It is a key gateway to the city, and to the city's economic future. The interchange's safety, congestion and air quality problems will be addressed by the South Medford Interchange Project.

Beam set over I-5 a success; construction on interchange continues toward completion The March beam set over Interstate 5 went off without a hitch. The 40 beams set over five nights form a corridor of about 250 feet. When complete, the underpass on the interstate will be lighted during the night time hours.
