The Project is located on US 26, less than one mile west of the town of Mitchell in
Wheeler County, Oregon.

Bridge Creek Bridge west of Mitchell, Oregon.
|
The bridge is aging and worn to the point that it needs to be replaced with a new structure built to modern standards.
The cost to replace the bridge is $2.75 million, and is being funded by by the Oregon Transportation Investment Act (OTIA).

| Traffic Changes During Construction |
|
- The bridge will be replaced with traffic using a detour route on a county road that bypasses the work zone. Measurable delays are not anticipated.
- Traffic will be detoured for approximately 6 months, spanning the in-water work period.
- There are no load limits for the detour route.
- Access to two businesses, Route 26 Espresso and Cannon’s Tire Center, will remain open during construction.
