Project Location:
On Highland Avenue (OR 126), between 23rd Street (MP 110.9) and 5th Street (MP 111.94) in Redmond. Glacier Avenue is one block north of Highland Avenue.
 
Project Description:
When the couplet is finished, Highland Avenue will accommodate eastbound highway traffic and Glacier Avenue will be one-way for westbound traffic. Ninth Street will be one-way northbound and 11th Street will be one-way southbound.  The purpose of the project is to alleviate congestion and provide improvements to Redmond’s east-west transportation system. Other elements of the project include new sidewalks, bike lanes, signals, drainage system, landscaping, ornamental lighting and a pedestrian crossing under the highway.
 
Once complete, the OR126: Glacier-Highland Couplet will become integral to the function of the US 97 Reroute and dramatically enhance traffic mobility around and through the community of Redmond.
 
Construction Impacts:
Various lane and street closures will take place. Westbound traffic was stitched to the improved Glacier Avenue in November 2005.
