OR 39/OR 140 East: Community Meeting to Discuss Highway Improvements
The community is invited to attend an informational meeting, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, about a proposed highway improvement project at the junction of OR 39/OR 140 East, in Klamath Falls. The meeting will be at the Oregon Department of Transportation district office, 2557 Altamont Drive, Klamath Falls.
The primary purpose of this meeting is to discuss upgrading the signal at the intersection of OR 39/OR 140 East. This project will address increasing sight distance, providing pedestrian crossings and creating curbed center islands.
A public meeting in November focused on the other part of this project, which is to make safety improvement to OR 39 near the Henley Schools. Another meeting will be scheduled in spring to present alternatives for the Henley section of the project.
The entire project is in the preliminary stages and no construction date has been set.
Representatives from the Oregon Department of Transportation will be available during the meeting to provide information about the proposed project. The public is encouraged to come, ask questions, and provide comments and suggestions.
