Three designs presented at US 97 & US 20 Refinement Plan Open House

The Oregon Department of Transportation project leaders will present three concepts for the future of the US 97 & US 20 corridors at the north end of Bend at a public open house from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29. The project team will use public input on the designs to develop a “preferred” long-term vision of the area.

The US 97 & US 20 Refinement Plan is intended to develop a long-term plan for the design of and access to both highways, as well as how traffic on surrounding streets will circulate and tie into the highways. In addition, the study is evaluating the feasibility of various locations for grade-separated interchanges in the area. Study intersections include Empire Avenue, Robal Lane, Cooley Road and Tumalo Road.

The ultimate recommendations from the study will be amended into the City of Bend, Deschutes County and the state transportation plans.

The public is invited to come, ask questions and offer suggestions. The open house will be in the commons at Sky View Middle School, 63555 NE 18th Ave., Bend.
