US 97: Crews to drill in Jefferson County
The Oregon Department of Transportation geology crew plans to begin drilling for soil and rock tests on Thursday, Jan. 19th, near Hay Creek Bridge on US 97, north of Madras in Jefferson County.
The work, which is weather dependent, may take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 19-20 and 23-25. The highway will be reduced to one lane at the bridge, mile point 78.2. Flaggers will control motorists’ movements. Expect minor delays.
The drilling is part of a future project to replace the Hay Creek Bridge with a new structure.
