Railroad Bridge Replacement North of Terrebonne
The BNSF Railroad Bridge is located about one mile north of Terrebonne on U.S. 97 at milepost 113.9. This bridge replacement project will take place in two phases, starting in early 2005. During the first phase, Wildish Standard Paving Company crews will construct a new, two lane bridge with 10 foot shoulders to the west of the existing bridge. Traffic will remain on the existing bridge during construction of the new bridge. Motorists will be routed to the new bridge in Fall 2005. Following this traffic switch, crews will remove the existing bridge.
The $2.7 Million BNSF Terrebonne Bridge Replacement project is funded by the Oregon Transportation Investment Act (OTIA) http://www.odot.state.or.us/otia/otia3index.htm. The Oregon Legislature created OTIA to repair and replace Oregon’s cracked and aging bridges. OTIA projects will enhance the safety, convenience and movement of traffic throughout the state of Oregon.
