Motorists are advised to slow down and be aware of crews working when traveling through this area. The posted construction speed for this work zone has been reduced to 45 MPH.
About the US 97 @ South Century Drive Interchange Project
Contractor crews are have begun work to build a full diamond interchange at the intersection of US 97 and South Century Drive, near Sunriver. The interchange will consist of two-lane bridges for both north- and southbound traffic on US 97. South Century Drive traffic will travel under the two US 97 bridges. A 120-foot vegetative median will separate the north- and southbound traffic on US 97. This project will improve safety and operations at the existing intersection of US 97 and South Century Drive and will accommodate increases in traffic numbers resulting from projected population growth. The final design includes landscaping and illumination.
South Century Drive serves as the primary access to Sunriver and recreation areas in southern Deschutes County.
