Temporary Closure: Exit 85 on I-84, The Dalles
The Oregon Department of Transportation will temporarily close exit 85 on Interstate 84 in The Dalles on Wednesday, June 29 in order to seal and preserve the Brewery Grade Overpass, which spans the Union Pacific Railroad. The closure is scheduled to be from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The closure will not affect those traveling through The Dalles on I-84. Motorists who wish to enter into the city or get to the interstate from town, however, will need to take a detour route. Signs will be posted at both ends of The Dalles to alert motorist of alternate routes.
Suggested alternate routes are:
· Those leaving town east- or westbound use US 30 east to exit 87 to I-84
· Those entering The Dalles from westbound I-84, take exit 87 to US 30 and travel west
· Those entering The Dalles from eastbound I-84 , take exit 84 to US 30 and travel east
