ODOT ADDS NEW US 97 CAMERA IN KLAMATH FALLS

The Oregon Department of Transportation added a new camera to www.TripCheck.com today. Travelers can now check conditions on US 97 at the Greensprings Drive Interchange in Klamath Falls, via a new web-camera. The camera, at mile point 277, shows all four lanes of US 97 with views of the Klamath Basin landscape as a backdrop.

View the camera at http://www.tripcheck.com/pages/ by clicking the camera icon located just south of Klamath Falls.

The installation of the new camera comes on the heels of the winter driving season. Commuters can add the new camera to their Custom Cam page, allowing them to check routes at-a-glance before departing for home or work.

Site users can check statewide cameras for a snapshot of weather conditions, scan regional winter travel and national weather reports, and view data provided by roadside weather stations, such as temperature, wind speed and precipitation readings.

TripCheck features more than 120 traffic cameras that give users near-real time views of travel and weather conditions, location, elevation and camera direction for most images. TripCheck maps detail present road conditions and spots to avoid - including road construction, maintenance work and traffic incidents.
