The Dalles Bridge: Paving work to Begin
Contractor crews working for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) are scheduled to begin replacing the asphalt/concrete deck surface on the US 197: The Dalles Bridge, Monday, Oct. 17. Work is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 18, weather permitting. Contractor crews will work Monday – Thursday, midnight to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, midnight to 3:00 p.m. During working hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers. Delays of less than ten minutes are anticipated.
Contractor crews will be doing intermittent survey work on the bridge, during daylight hours, this week. Motorists may encounter delays of less than five minutes during these activities.
Drivers are advised to use caution, reduce speeds, and be aware of workers when traveling through the work zone.
About the Bridge Deck Repair
The Dalles Bridge Deck Repair project is located on US 197 between mileposts 0.0 and 0.5. The Dalles Bridge spans the Columbia River between the states of Oregon and Washington. This project will replace the asphalt/concrete deck surface across the bridge and replace portions of the bridge joints.
