US 97: Crash South of La Pine UPDATE
US 97 is closed at mile point 183, south of La Pine and three miles north of Gilchrist, due to a vehicle crash. The highway is expected to be closed for several hours as emergency personnel investigate the crash.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes around the area.
Motorists and truck drivers who choose to remain in the area until the highway reopens are asked to wait at the La Pine truck stop or in the communities of Gilchrist or Crescent. ODOT personnel will make a sweep of these areas to notify motorists when the highway reopens.
Drivers are advised to slow down and be aware of emergency personnel when approaching the crash scene.
