ODOT to Install Crater Lake Parkway Signs
Oregon Department of Transportation employees will begin installing the new Crater Lake Parkway signs on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Motorists should expect minor delays at installation locations. It is estimated that it will take three weeks to complete the work.
Installing the signs is the final step in a community-driven effort to have the section of OR 39 through Klamath Falls renamed to celebrate the national park. The section of road has been known by several names, including Alameda, Kit Carson Way and East Side Bypass.
The signs are dark blue, instead of the standard green, and feature the image of Crater Lake.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and be aware of sign installers when driving through this area.
