ODOT Region 4 Website Has New Look

For more information contact Julianne Repman (541) 388-6224

ODOT´s Region 4 will move all of its Website content to a new standardized Oregon.gov template design page at 10:00 a.m. today. The new home page organizes content in the same manner as the old Region 4 home page, with main subject links on the left navigation bar. Visitors should try the "Search" box at the top right corner of every Web page when they have trouble finding something. The new web address is:  http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION4

The Oregon Department of Transportation strongly encourages media outlets to revisit the Region 4 Webpage today and re-bookmark the ODOT camera pages. In the weeks to come the current camera links will become outdated and the links will no longer direct users to the cameras. Bookmarking the cameras again today will ensure a seamless transition for you and your users. The new camera page can be viewed at http://egov.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION4/camerapages.shtml.

It is also important to note that the web addresses are now case sensitive. When going to the Region 4 site, for example, users must type the new address with all caps at the end, like this:  http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION4

The change is part of an effort by Governor Ted Kulongoski´s administration to consolidate into one place the hundreds of thousands of Web pages maintained by Oregon state agencies and give all agencies a consistent face and similar navigation structure. Visitors to ODOT’s home page noticed that it changed earlier this year. The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has created a Web page with answers to frequently asked questions about why Oregon Web sites are changing. Users with constructive suggestions on how to make Oregon Web sites more useful are invited to e-mail egovsupport@das.state.or.us
