TRAFFIC ADVISORY - REDMOND
For more information contact Julianne Repman (541) 388-6224
Antler Avenue between NE 2nd Street and Railroad Avenue will temporarily close to through traffic beginning Monday, November 22 at 6:00 a.m. Local business and residential traffic will continue to have access to the closure area during construction. Construction is expected to be completed during the week of December 13.
J W Fowler Construction crews will use the closure period to replace two waterlines, pipe a section of the Central Oregon Irrigation District (COID) canal and remove the Antler Avenue Bridge located at the intersection of Antler Avenue and Canal Boulevard. Crews will perform canal-piping work during daylight hours. Some weekend work may be possible. Travelers are encouraged to slow down and use caution when approaching this intersection.
The City of Redmond suggests motorists use the following signed detour route to move around the area:
Eastbound on Antler Avenue
Antler to 4th Street
4th Street to Evergreen Avenue
Evergreen Avenue to Franklin Street
Franklin Street to Antler Avenue
Westbound on Antler Avenue
Antler Avenue to Franklin Street
Franklin Street to Evergreen Avenue
Evergreen Avenue to 4th Street
4th Street to Antler Avenue
Please be advised that NE 9th Street is currently closed between Antler Avenue and Highway 126 due to an unrelated construction project. The detour for that project also routes drivers to Franklin Street. The project taking place at 9th Street is anticipated to be completed during the week of November 29.
The COID canal will be piped from a point south of the Fred Meyer store to a point near Dogwood Avenue during the months to come. This piping work will eliminate the need for bridges at Antler Avenue and at Evergreen Avenue. Crews are working to pipe the canal from north to south in order to accommodate monthly stock runs in the canal. This canal piping project is anticipated to be completed by April, 2005.
