UPDATE: Week of May 22nd and May 29th
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing safe, efficient transportations systems. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers:

CROOK COUNTY
OR 126 (Ochoco Highway), MP 17.9, Prineville
Traffic has been switched to the construction configuration. Crews are excavating and preparing for bridge construction. Minimal traffic delays possible.

DESCHUTES COUNTY
OR 126 (McKenzie Highway), MP 93-97, junction of US 20
Crews for the Oregon Department of Transportation will continue paving a section of OR 126 between Sisters and Redmond. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of May.
During the work, crews will perform grinding, paving and shoulder and guardrail work from the intersection of OR 126 and US 20 (mile point 93), to four miles east of the junction (mile point 97). Within the four mile of the project limits, motorists on OR 126 should expect up to 15-minute delays during the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Motorists on US 20 should expect up to 15-minute delays between 6 and 11 p.m.
During the week of May 22, crews will place shoulder rock, pave road and driveway approaches, and put permanent striping between mile points 93-97. Expect up to 15-minute delays. During the week of May 30, crews will place delineators, with no impact to traffic.
Motorists are asked to reduce speed and use caution while driving through the work zone.
OR 126 (McKenzie Highway), MP 111, Redmond
Highland Avenue is one way eastbound and Glacier Avenue is one way westbound. Ninth Street is one way northbound and 11th Street is one way southbound, between Highland and Forest avenues.
Ninth Street/Veterans Way is now one-way northbound from Indian to Forest avenues. Crews continue earthwork on Veterans Way, between Indian and Highland Avenue. Traffic will be pushed to one side.
The north side of Highland Avenue has been paved and traffic will be switched to the new roadway during the week of May 22. Crews will then begin working on the south side.

US 97 (The Dalles – California Highway), MP 113.9, north of Terrebonne
Nighttime paving, striping, and guardrail installation work on US 97 at the new bridge over the BNSF railroad at Terrebonne is scheduled for Monday, May 22 through Friday, May 26. Motorists should expect a single lane closure from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to facilitate the final roadway operations. Crews will also pave the shoulders on US 97, 10th Street, and Ditch Rider Road. Flaggers will control alternating one-way traffic on US 97 and motorists access to 10th Street and Ditch Rider Road.
Wimp Way at US 97 in Terrebonne is temporarily closed to through traffic to facilitate replacement of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad Bridge and to ensure motorist safety during construction at this intersection.
This bridge is located about one mile north of Terrebonne on US 97 at milepost 113.9. During the first phase of construction, crews will construct a new, two-lane bridge with 10-foot shoulders to the west of the existing bridge.
Negus Way, Redmond
Bridge work continues at Negus Way, from North Canal Boulevard to the east side of the railroad tracks. Crews are constructing retaining walls and bridge supports. No delays expected, but motorists are asked to be cautious of trucks and equipment in the area.
Negus Way is closed between North Canal Boulevard and NE 5th St.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes around the closure area, including the usage of the newly completed NE Ninth Street extension location between Negus Avenue and Hemlock Avenue.
US 20 (Central Oregon Highway), MP .59-1.11, Greenwood Avenue, Bend
During the week of May 30, crews will place permanent striping on US 20 (Greenwood Avenue) starting at Third Street. Work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will involve single-lane closures. Expect less than 10-minute delays.
US 20 (McKenzie-Bend Highway), MP 14.95-18, north of Bend
During the week of May 30, crews will place permanent striping on US 20 from north of Bend to Tumalo. Work will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will involve single-lane closures. Expect less than 10-minute delays.
US 97 (Bend Parkway), MP 135-140, Bend
Crews for the City of Bend will maintain landscaping on the Bend Parkway (US 97) from Monday May, 22 to Wednesday, May 24. The center lane will be closed on both sides at the crews work in half-mile increments. Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Slow down and expect congestion.
US 97 (The Dalles – California Highway), MP 152-154, at South Century Drive, near Sunriver
Crews will continue earthwork activities No delays expected. The speed through the work zone is 45 miles-per-hour and strictly enforced.
A full diamond interchange will be built to improve safety and operations at the existing intersection and to accommodate an increase in projected traffic. The interchange will consist of two-lane bridges for both north- and southbound traffic on US 97. South Century Drive will go under the two bridges, which are separated by a 120-foot vegetative median.

JEFFERSON COUNTY
US 26 (Warm Springs Highway), MP 116.36 – 116.80, West of Madras
Wildish Standard Paving Company is working to replace the existing, three lane Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road Bridge, west of Madras, with a new, wider, three-lane Bridge.
Daytime crews are scheduled to complete fence installation work on Monday, May 22 through Friday, May 26 with no impact on two-lane traffic. On either the evening of Tuesday, May 23 or Wednesday, May 24 motorists can expect a single lane closure to allow crews to install bridge joint material. Work is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and flaggers will direct motorists movements. Crews will demobilize through Thursday, May 25. Traffic will be switched to the final configuration following these operations. This will complete work on this project.
KLAMATH COUNTY
Tingley Lane (Midland Highway), MP 1.34, Klamath Falls
Excavation and paving work continues at the Tingley Lane Bridge over the Lost River diversion canal. Traffic is being regulated by flaggers and pilot cars. Expect delays and be aware of loose gravel.
The contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation will replace the current aging, wood structure with a concrete bridge. The bridge was closed in summer 2004 after damage was discovered in the bridge deck. It was opened later that year, but restricted to one lane, with a stop sign at each end. The new structure will be a two-span concrete slap bridge, 36 feet wide and 125 feet long. It will be able to handle modern-day loads and truck traffic.
OR 66 (Greensprings Highway) MP 43.48-44.08, west of Klamath Falls
Crews are working on the Spencer Bridge over the Klamath River. No delays anticipated.
US 97 (The Dalles-California Highway) MP 241, Spring Creek Hill
Excavation activities have resumed. Traffic regulated by flaggers. Expect delays.

US 97 (Dalles - California Highway), MP 275.8, Klamath Falls
Crews from Hamilton Construction Company are performing cleanup work at the US 97 Bridge over Greensprings Drive. Crews may be striping this week. Expect minor delays.

LAKE COUNTY
OR 31 (Fremont Highway) MP 46.6-46.9, one mile west of Silver Lake
Crews are working to replace the narrow, wood bridge with a new concrete structure. Contractor may perform minor site operations and removal of stocked debris on the project. Expect single lane closures, controlled by flaggers, and delays up to 5 minutes. Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
OR 140 (Warner Highway) MP 17.39 – 18.50, US 395 (Freemont Highway) MP 128.57 – 142.64
Crews are beginning work again on OR 140 from mile pint 17.39 to 18.50. Contractor crews will be performing construction surveying and general site excavation and embankment work. Work should not impact traffic during the week of May 22. During the week of May 30, crews may set up temporary detour structures, with minor delays.
This modernization project will realign and reconstruct Highway 140 to eliminate four curves, install safety features and replace the Parsnip Creek Bridge (MP 18.2) with a box culvert on the Warner Highway. Along, US 395, contractor crews will add two to three inches of new pavement on the Freemont Highway, north of Lakeview. This paving project will improve the aging highway surface in the area and includes upgrades to guardrail and constructing new mailbox turnouts. The project is anticipated to be finished in summer 2006.
