UPDATE: Week of September 18
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing safe, efficient transportations systems. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers:

CROOK COUNTY
OR 126 (Ochoco Highway), MP 17.9, Prineville
Traffic has been switched to the construction configuration. Crews are working on the bridge end panels and the approaches on each end of the bridge. Minimal traffic delays possible.
The speed limit is 35 miles-per-hour through the work zone and is strictly enforced. Fines double in work zones.

DESCHUTES COUNTY
OR 126 (McKenzie Highway), MP 111, Redmond
Road work continues in the area of Glacier and Highland Avenues in Redmond.
Highland Avenue is one way eastbound and Glacier Avenue is one way westbound. Ninth Street is one way northbound and 11th Street is one way southbound, between Highland and Forest avenues.
~Crews will work seven days a week through the month of September.
Starting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, Fifth Street (US 97 northbound) will be closed for three nights to allow crews to work at the intersections of Glacier and Highland avenues. Northbound traffic will be directed to Sixth Street, with one lane for northbound traffic and one lane for southbound traffic. The closure will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18; Tuesday, Sept. 19; and Wednesday, Sept. 20.
During both sets of closures, the highway will reopen at 6 a.m. Motorists should be prepared to drive on gravel during the day. Additional single-lane closures are likely to take place at night. The work is scheduled for night to help minimize impact to the traveling public and businesses in the area. Drivers are asked to slow down and watch for signs and flaggers or find alternate routes around the work zone.

Negus Way, Redmond
Bridge work continues at Negus Way, from North Canal Boulevard to the east side of the railroad tracks. The intersection of Negus Way and NE Fifth Street will remain closed for several days. No delays expected. Find alternate routes through the area.
Motorists are asked to be cautious of trucks and euqipment in the area.
Negus Way is closed between North Canal Boulevard and NE Fifth St.
US 97 (Bend Parkway), MP 135-136, Bend
On Monday, Sept. 18 and Tuesday, Sept. 19, maintenance crews will close the northbound left lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to repair guardrail on the Bend Parkway.
Motorists are asked to slow down and follow signs, arrow boards and traffic cones..
US 97 (The Dalles – California Highway), MP 152-154, at South Century Drive, near Sunriver
Night paving will continue this week on the new northbound travel lanes. Be prepared for an increase in truck traffic within project limits on Highway 97. Expect lane restrictions at night, with flaggers controlling motorist movements. Expect minimal delays. The speed through the work zone is 45 miles-per-hour and strictly enforced.
South Century Drive at US 97 will be closed for at least three days, starting in mid-October. Drivers will need to use Vandervert Road to gain access to South Century Drive.
The northbound passing lane south of the S. Century Drive intersection has been temporarily reduced to one lane. The highway has been reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate construction of the interchange project.
A lane is closed on S. Century Drive near the US 97 interchange. The westbound traffic lane is closed and traffic has been shifted south on the road. Traffic is traveling in one westbound lane and one eastbound lane. No delays expected
A full diamond interchange will be built to improve safety and operations at the existing intersection and to accommodate an increase in projected traffic. The interchange will consist of two-lane bridges for both north- and southbound traffic on US 97. South Century Drive will go under the two bridges, which are separated by a 120-foot vegetative median.

GILLIAM COUNTY
The striping crew will be working on highways in the Condon area throughout the week. Please use caution around this mobile operation.
JEFFERSON COUNTY
US 26 (Warm Springs Highway), MP 85.3-99.1, near Warm Springs
Crews are performing pavement work will start installing permanent striping. Expect lane closures between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to noon on Fridays. No work on the weekends. Expect delays up to 16 minutes.
This project will resurface US 26 near Warm Springs.
KLAMATH COUNTY
Tingley Lane (Midland Highway), MP 1.34, Klamath Falls
Cleanup and sign and delineator installation work continues at the Tingley Lane Bridge over the Lost River diversion canal. Intermittent, minor delays possible.
OR 66 (Greensprings Highway) MP 43.48-44.08, west of Klamath Falls
Crews are working on the Spencer Bridge over the Klamath River. Bridge removal and paving work is in progress. Traffic regulated by flaggers. Expect minor delays. Trucks may be entering roadway.
US 97 (The Dalles-California Highway) MP 241, Spring Creek Hill
No work this week.

OR 140 (Lake of the Woods Highway), MP 50.81 to MP 57.06, at Doak Mountain, west of Klamath Falls
Crews are putting down base rock, excavating, paving and installing guardrail. Traffic controlled by flaggers. Expect delays.

OR 140 (Lake of the Woods Highway), MP 58.8 to 59.8, west of Klamath Falls
Work continues to repair a one-mile section of water-damaged OR 140, west of Klamath Falls. Crews for Hap Taylor and Sons will be placing fill material. Flaggers and a pilot car will control motorist movements 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week to ensure traffic safety. Expect up to 20-minute delays and be prepared to drive on gravel. Speed has been reduced to 40 mph in the construction zone.
The work will include raising the highway by 3 ½ feet, with stone embankment, aggregate base, asphalt concrete pavement. New guardrail and concrete barriers will also be installed as part of the project.
The highway closed in June after floodwaters from Klamath Lake submerged portions of the roadway and thousands of acres to the north after the failure of Geary Levy. The road was reopened after ODOT made temporary emergency repairs. The closure and subsequent emergency repairs were necessary to ensure motorist safety and continued mobility through the area.
LAKE COUNTY
OR 31 (Fremont Highway) MP 46.6-46.9, one mile west of Silver Lake
Crews are working to replace the narrow, wood bridge with a new concrete structure. This week, crews will install guard rail on the north section of the project. Toward the end of the week, traffic will be switched to the temporary structure. Crews will then begin working on the south part of the structure. Expect less than 10-minute delays.
A temporary traffic signal has been installed at the east and west ends of the project. It controls motorist movements over the one-lane bridge. Speed through the construction zone has been reduced to 45 miles-per-hour.
OR 140 (Warner Highway) MP 17.39 – 18.50, US 395 (Freemont Highway) MP 128.57 – 142.64
No work is taking place.
This modernization project will realign and reconstruct Highway 140 to eliminate four curves, install safety features and replace the Parsnip Creek Bridge (MP 18.2) with a box culvert on the Warner Highway. Along, US 395, contractor crews will add two to three inches of new pavement on the Freemont Highway, north of Lakeview. This paving project will improve the aging highway surface in the area and includes upgrades to guardrail and constructing new mailbox turnouts. The project is anticipated to be finished in summer 2006.
