UPDATE: Week of October 2
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is continuing to invest in Oregon’s future with roadway improvement projects throughout Oregon’s central region (ODOT Region 4). ODOT is committed to providing safe, efficient transportations systems. The following projects reflect ODOT’s commitment to make improvements as traffic numbers rise and to make the roadways safer and more efficient for drivers:

CROOK COUNTY
OR 126 (Ochoco Highway), MP 17.9, Prineville
Traffic has been switched to the construction configuration. Crews are working on the bridge end panels and the approaches on each end of the bridge. Minimal traffic delays possible.
The speed limit is 35 miles-per-hour through the work zone and is strictly enforced. Fines double in work zones.

DESCHUTES COUNTY
OR 126 (McKenzie Highway), MP 111, Redmond
Road work continues in the area of Glacier and Highland Avenues in Redmond.
Highland Avenue is one way eastbound and Glacier Avenue is one way westbound. Ninth Street is one way northbound and 11th Street is one way southbound, between Highland and Forest avenues.
Day and night work will continue in the project area for the next several weeks.
Night work includes constructing curbs and sidewalks on Fifth and Sixth streets and paving on Glacier and Highland avenues. Expect lane closures, with minimal delays.
Day work includes project cleanup, electrical work and landscaping. No delays expected.

Negus Way, Redmond
Bridge work continues at Negus Way, from North Canal Boulevard to the east side of the railroad tracks. Crews will construct curbs and prepare for paving. Minor delays are possible at the intersection of NE Fifth Street and Negus Way.
Motorists are asked to be cautious of trucks and euqipment in the area.
Negus Way is closed between North Canal Boulevard and NE Fifth St.
US 97 (The Dalles—California Highway), MP 120-122, Redmond
Maintenance crews will patch pavement through Redmond on US 97 (Fifth and Sixth streets) starting Monday night. Work will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday night through Friday morning. Expect minor delays.
US 97 (The Dalles – California Highway), MP 152-154, at South Century Drive, near Sunriver
Bridge work continues this week, with guardrail installation and striping. Expect minimal delays on US 97 between 9 a.m. and noon on Monday. Expect a lane restriction with flaggers controlling motorist movements on Monday evening.
South Century Drive, at US 97, will be closed from 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 9 to 5 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 12. At the start of the closure, highway traffic will be switched to the newly constructed northbound lanes and work will begin to build the temporary access to S. Century. Drivers will need to use Vandevert Road to gain access to South Century Drive.
The northbound passing lane south of the S. Century Drive intersection has been temporarily reduced to one lane. The highway has been reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate construction of the interchange project.
A lane is closed on S. Century Drive near the US 97 interchange. The westbound traffic lane is closed and traffic has been shifted south on the road. Traffic is traveling in one westbound lane and one eastbound lane. No delays expected.
A full diamond interchange will be built to improve safety and operations at the existing intersection and to accommodate an increase in projected traffic. The interchange will consist of two-lane bridges for both north- and southbound traffic on US 97. South Century Drive will go under the two bridges, which are separated by a 120-foot vegetative median.

JEFFERSON COUNTY
US 26 (Warm Springs Highway), MP 85.3-99.1, near Warm Springs
Crews are performing pavement work will start installing permanent striping. Expect lane closures between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to noon on Fridays. No work on the weekends. Expect delays up to 16 minutes.
This project will resurface US 26 near Warm Springs.
KLAMATH COUNTY
Tingley Lane (Midland Highway), MP 1.34, Klamath Falls
Cleanup work continues at the Tingley Lane Bridge over the Lost River diversion canal. Intermittent, minor delays possible.
OR 66 (Greensprings Highway) MP 43.48-44.08, west of Klamath Falls
Crews are working on the Spencer Bridge over the Klamath River. Bridge removal and paving work is in progress. Traffic regulated by flaggers. Expect minor delays. Trucks may be entering roadway.
US 97 (The Dalles-California Highway) MP 241, Spring Creek Hill
Striping work. Expect minor delays

Crews are performing cleanup work at the intersection. Minor delays are possible.
OR 140 (Lake of the Woods Highway), MP 50.81 to MP 57.06, at Doak Mountain, west of Klamath Falls
Crews are paving, striping and installing guardrail and signs. Traffic controlled by flaggers. Expect delays.

OR 140 (Lake of the Woods Highway), MP 58.8 to 59.8, west of Klamath Falls
Work continues to repair a one-mile section of water-damaged OR 140, west of Klamath Falls. Crews for Hap Taylor and Sons will be placing fill material. Flaggers and a pilot car will control motorist movements 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week to ensure traffic safety. Expect up to 20-minute delays. Crews will be and be paving and placing base rock. Speed has been reduced to 40 mph in the construction zone.
The work will include raising the highway by 3 ½ feet, with stone embankment, aggregate base, asphalt concrete pavement. New guardrail and concrete barriers will also be installed as part of the project.
The highway closed in June after floodwaters from Klamath Lake submerged portions of the roadway and thousands of acres to the north after the failure of Geary Levy. The road was reopened after ODOT made temporary emergency repairs. The closure and subsequent emergency repairs were necessary to ensure motorist safety and continued mobility through the area.
LAKE COUNTY
OR 31 (Fremont Highway) MP 46.6-46.9, one mile west of Silver Lake
Crews are working to replace the narrow, wood bridge with a new concrete structure. On Monday, Sept. 25, crews will place bridge slabs. During this work, flaggers will control motorist movements. Expect less than 20-minute delays.
The rest of the week, construction of the bridge end panels and earthwork will take place, with no impact to traffic.
A temporary traffic signal has been installed at the east and west ends of the project. It controls motorist movements over the one-lane bridge. Speed through the construction zone has been reduced to 45 miles-per-hour.
OR 140 (Warner Highway) MP 17.39 – 18.50, US 395 (Freemont Highway) MP 128.57 – 142.64
Paving work is taking place on the shoulder of US 395, intermittently between MP 128 to 142. Traffic is not expected to be delayed.
This modernization project will realign and reconstruct Highway 140 to eliminate four curves, install safety features and replace the Parsnip Creek Bridge (MP 18.2) with a box culvert on the Warner Highway. Along, US 395, contractor crews will add two to three inches of new pavement on the Freemont Highway, north of Lakeview. This paving project will improve the aging highway surface in the area and includes upgrades to guardrail and constructing new mailbox turnouts. The project is anticipated to be finished in summer 2006.
