Project Location:
The OR 140: Doak Mountain (Lake of the Woods Highway) project is located on State Route 140,  approximately ten miles West of Klamath Falls.  The milepost limits of the project are 50.7 to 57.0.
 
Project Description:
The proposed project will construct truck climbing lanes and widen shoulders on both the east and west sides of Doak Mountain on OR 140.  The project will bring lane and shoulder widths up to current design standards for this type of highway.  It will mitigate roadside safety deficiencies and provide climbing lanes for more efficient movement of traffic.
 
Benefit to Community/State:  Improves safety, efficiency and mobility for the Highway 140 corridor.  This is a model project highlighting the cooperative agreements that can reached between public agencies and with private land holders.

$9 million, FHWA Forest Highway Program
$1 million, ODOT
