Rock Creek Grade @ Olex Project Fact Sheet

Project Location:
The Rock Creek Grade Project is located on Highway 19, between Arlington and Condon, from MP 15.3 to 17.20 in Gilliam County.
Purpose of the project:
The purpose of the project is to replace a substandard bridge and realign curve segments at the top of the grade and at the bridge.
Traffic changes during the project:
Work will take place in three separate segments.  Segment 1 consists of the new bridge being constructed on a new alignment, Segment 2, consists of a curve halfway up the grade, and Segment 3 consists of a new alignment at the top of the grade.  Each segment will have unique traffic control plans.  Small detours will be utilized to maintain traffic flow at all times.  These detours will utilize the existing roadway as well as a county road with two accesses to Highway 19.  Traffic flow in Segment 1 will be restricted in a one lane roadway with stop control.  At some times during the project traffic will travel on gravel surfaces.  The existing bridge will be removed after the new bridge has been constructed.
Information during Construction:
The construction schedule, traffic restrictions, and project updates will be delivered to the public through the local media.  Traffic restrictions and construction activities will also be kept updated on Tripcheck.  Weekly project updates will also be sent to Gilliam County to keep them informed of the construction activity.
The construction of the project is scheduled for completion by October 15, 2005.
