The 2015 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction has been substantially completed. ODOT is providing an advance copy of the final redline version here online. After some final editing and formal approval from FHWA and the Oregon Department of Justice, these Specifications will be sent for printing.
The 2015 Specifications are essentially an updated version of our current 2008 Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction. The updates are primarily a result of the following processes:
- ODOT/APWA/AGC Change Process – ODOT partnered with the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Association of General Contractors (AGC) to review the Standard Specifications with an eye towards compatibility with those used by local agencies. Four subcommittees, staffed with ODOT, APWA and AGC participants, developed new Standard Specifications focused in four areas for inclusion in the 2015 book.
- ODOT Change Process – ODOT’s Office of Project Letting (OPL) converted existing 2008 Boilerplate Special Provisions into the new 2015 book. These updated Specifications followed the process established to change or update Specifications and were reviewed by the AGC and APWA and have been approved for use by the Oregon Department of Justice and Federal Highway Administration.
The scheduled release date of the new 2015 Standard Specification Book is July 2014 and the printed book will be available for purchase at that time. The 2015 Specifications will be for use in all ODOT projects with a PS & E date on and after January 1, 2015.
