The ODOT Public Transit Division helps public transportation providers with funding for a variety of capital assets. The most common project is to replace transit vehicles that have met or exceeded the useful life vehicle condition standards established by the division. The division also provides funding for vehicle purchases to expand public transportation services in Oregon. Capitalized preventive maintenance is also funded. This assistance allows public transit service to maintain vehicle fleets that are safe, appropriately designed for the route, and are maintained in good condition. Grants are also provided to assist in purchase and construction of a variety of facilities and capital equipment to support the provision of public transportation service in Oregon.

| Selling Vehicles |

Use the links below to help determine fair market value for selling a vehicle. If the value is over $5,000, you must follow appropriate disposal procedures. Following the proper public process is important for disposing of any ODOT Public Transit Division grant-funded vehicle. Private nonprofit agencies may not be allowed to sell a vehicle without assistance from a local public agency or the statewide surplus system through Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Surplus Property. Vehicles may be sold via online services such as E-Bay rather than transporting them to the Salem lot.
