Programs
The Transportation Planning Analysis Unit (TPAU) provides transportation analysis services to customers at several levels – detailed project specific, broader facility and transportation systems, and project and policy effects at a statewide level. Examples of detailed analyses include project development and intersection analyses. Facility or system analyses cover a broader or regional area and include corridor studies, urban models, air and noise quality analyses, and transportation system plans. Statewide analyses include land use/transport/economic integrated analyses.

Services provided cover a wide range:
  • Consistent procedures and methodologies are important in development and application of analysis and modeling tools and processes.
  • TPAU regularly provides education and training in development and application of analysis and modeling tools and processes for specific projects as well as for broad policy questions.
  • Accurate and current data is a key element of analysis and modeling tools.
Applied research is routinely conducted to continue to provide state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice resources to customers.
