Need a boost in your training program? Out of ideas? We have a well stocked library of training and safety videos and DVDs on a wide range of subjects, as well as a publication library of reference materials and CDs. All public agencies within Oregon are welcome to use this free service; your only cost is for postage to return borrowed items. We can also set up a "send out" schedule for you, so the items you want to borrow will arrive on the dates you want to use them.

"Landscape Equipment: Safety and Maintenance" - a 15 minute video on the proper procedures when working with chemicals and hazardous materials. Also covers operating mowers, cutters, trimmers and weed eaters.

"Lifting Safely: Cranes, Chains, Slings and Hoists" - A 12 minute videos that stresses the safety awareness that must accompany anyone who works with cranes, chains, slings and hoists and the proper procedures to follow.

"Ladder Safety" - A 10 minute overview of the safe use of stepladders, straight ladders, and platform ladders. Explains 4:1 rule when placing straight ladders, the belt buckle rule, 36" requirement for straight ladders above landings, and more.

"Defensive Driving: I Could See It Coming" - Teach your new or existing employees the unique handling skills needed to safely operate a motor vehicle. This comprehensive defensive driving program discusses the factors that cause accidents and seven strategies for driving safely. A 15 minute video.

"Defensive Driving: When Good Weather Goes Bad..." - A 18 minute DVD on driving safety tips for all four seasons. Winter covers snow and ice, and other common hazards. Spring covers heavy rains, and hydroplaning as well as high winds. Tips for driving in fog and sun glare conditions are also addressed. It also covers pre-trip vehicle inspections.

Did you know that the T2 Center offers free training classes for public works agencies and their crews?

We will bring them right to your agency and supply all of the class materials. All you have to do is have the required minimum of people for the class and a place to have it.

If you do not have enough people to host a class, you may be able to join in on one being hosted by another agency. To do so, follow these simple steps:

Please note that we will be scheduling RS-3 Pavement Materials and RS-4 Environmental BMPs through the spring.

We will also be scheduling RS-5 Asphalt Pavement Maint. 1 and RS-6 Asphalt Pavement Maint. 2 throughout the year.

RS-7 Effective Communication Skills and RS-8 Environmental BMPs 2 will be offered at our Fall School.
