- You must be a current Department of Transportation employee in a permanent, seasonal or limited duration position, in order to be considered eligible for this position.
The Chief Inspector is responsible for insuring daily contract compliance on major construction projects and assisting in compiling office data on location and construction projects.

- Underfill Option: This position is classified at the Civil Engineering Specialist 1level, however, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications of the Engineering Specialist 3 level to apply (Salary $3081 - $4551 monthly). We may underfill the position until the selected candidate fulfills the minimum qualifications for the Civil Engineering Specialist 1 level. Underfill training will not exceed 2 years.
CURIOUS? Here’s what you need (Minimum Qualifications):
CES1
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Transportation-related Engineering and one year civil engineering or surveying experience; OR
- An Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or Surveying from a recognized community college or technical school of engineering and two and one-half years of engineering or surveying experience. One year of this experience must have been working independently or as a senior member of a team or work group; OR
- Four years of para-professional engineering or surveying experience. One year of this experience must have been working independently or as a senior member of a team or work group; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
ES3 (Underfill Option)
- An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology from a recognized community college or technical school of engineering and four years of experience directly related to engineering; OR
- Five and one-half years (66 months) of sub-professional engineering experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
