The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) has been serving Oregon's military veterans since 1945. The Oregon legislature created the Department in response to a citizen mandate to provide for Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen returning from duty in World War II. Since then, benefits managed by the Department have been extended to include veterans of later eras.
