Oregon Veterans' Emergency Financial Assistance Program (OVEFAP)
Cash Aid for Veterans of the US Armed Forces
 

Everyone agrees that government is not the solution to all problems, ODVA encourages military servicemembers and veterans to inquire within their local military commands and veteran service organizations.
 
This financial assistance program is for veterans and their immediate family (spouse, unremarried surviving spouse, child, or stepchild) who are in need of emergency financial assistance. Emergency financial assistance include but are not limited to the following:
  • Emergency or temporary housing and related housing expenses
    • Expenses for utilities, insurance, house repairs, rent assistance or food;
  • Emergency medical or dental expenses;
  • Emergency transportation;
  • Expenses related to starting a business, such as business licenses or occupational licenses;
  • Temporary income after military discharge; and
  • Legal assistance for certain veteran issues
Steps for application of cash aid:
  1. Learn more - Read the brochure with details about OVEFAP
  2. Locate and contact an accredited Veterans Service Officer
  3. Complete the OVEFAP Application Form
  4. Complete the OVEFAP Financial Status and provide supporting documentation
  5. Submit entire package through Veteran Service Officer
