TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED
We Stand Together
"Today, a new generation of veterans carries this torch. Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom have forged the most combat-hardened force in our nation's history. Yet, no war is without its casualties. Whether seen - or unseen - the wounds of war last a lifetime, and so should our care." --Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Veterans Day
Unseen Injuries Brochure
The Plymouth colony first cared for veterans beginning in 1636. Three hundred and seventy-three years later, the United States continues to provide the best possible care for our greatest assets. ODVA continues to be at the tip of the sword in response to Warrior Care. There is no greater calling than to care for those that ensured our freedom; Warrior Care is America's duty.

When you become wounded, injured, or ill as a member of the armed forces, a formal set of rules is in place to make sure you receive all of the benefits for which you are eligible. This process is called the Disability Evaluation System (DES) and it operates under public law (Title 10 and Title 38) to ensure you are treated fairly. Military veterans may qualify for over $3,100 in monthly Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) compensation benefits. Addional amounts are paid for the veterans spouse, children, and dependent parents.

Under the "Combat Veteran" authority, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides cost-free health care services for five years. ODVA strongly encourages you to seek the advice and counsel of an accredited Veteran Service Officer to represent your interests before filing a claim or enrolling in the health care program. Download VA Form 10-10EZ - Application for Medical Benefits (Health Care Enrollment Form)

WarriorCare serves as a portal to Wounded Warrior resources. Whether you are currently active-duty military, veteran, a family member or a concerned neighbor, the links on this site will provide answers to your questions or ideas for where to turn next.

/ODVA/images/RotatingMilitaryPhotos/50.JPGThe U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a wide range of benefits for our Nation's veterans, service members, and their families. VA can pay a monthly compensation if the veteran is at least 10% disabled as a result of military service. The United States and the State of Oregon provide benefits for the surviving spouse, dependent children and dependent parents of deceased veterans and military servicemembers.

The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) continues to build better lives for veterans and their families living in Oregon. From helping veterans obtain earned medals and military awards to filing claims for education benefits, ODVA is here with you every step of the way. The wide array of programs and services are provided by a grateful nation and state.
