May 30 - 2 p.m. – A program will be held at the Benton County Veterans Memorial on the south lawn of the National Guard Armory. The program will be paying tribute to those who have passed on. Families and friends take part and the event is open to the public. There will be speeches, music and time for reflections. Cake and punch served following the program. In case of inclement weather the program will move inside the Armory. An F-15 flyover has been requested. Located at 1100 N.W. 11th.

May 30 - 11 a.m. – A display of more than 500 full-size American Flags, each with a deceased veteran’s name. A patriotic program featuring music by the Dallas High School choir and echo Taps. Dallas area Boy and Girl Scouts will also participate. Guest speaker: CW4 (Ret.) Jerry W. Carlson, who served with the Corps of Engineers in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Depoe Bay
May 30 - 11 a.m. – A brief ceremony at the bay front, those in attendance board the flower-bedecked vessels of the local fishing fleet. The boats pass under the Depoe Bay Bridge to the open ocean where the flowers from all the boats are cast upon the water in memory of those who have lost their lives at sea and of the valiant men and women of the Armed Forces who have given their lives in the service of freedom. 1:30 p.m. – The 3rd Annual Portland Rose Festival Memorial Day Weekend is growing into one of Oregon’s largest celebrations honoring veterans and those who still serve.
