StateScoop Award.jpgOregon Government Ethics Commission wins the 2016 StateScoop 50 Innovation of the Year award for the new Electronic Filing System!

     

On May 4, 2016, the StateScoop 50 Awards recognized innovators, innovative initiatives and up-and-coming leaders in state and local government with awards in six different categories. The 2016 recipients were selected from hundreds of nominees in a nationwide voting process with more than 80,000 votes cast. The awards ceremony took place during the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, in Baltimore, Maryland, where Oregon Government Ethics Commission Executive Director, Ron Bersin, accepted the award on behalf of the agency.

  

Background:  In 2007, the Commission began planning efforts to build an automated solution for filing, processing and making the 16,000+ documents annually filed with the agency publicly available on its website. After a series of State budgetary setbacks, a Special Assessment was established for the specific purpose of generating funds for this initiative. Design and development officially began in 2014, and the Commission is pleased to announce that the Electronic Filing System became available on December 15, 2015.

Commission Funding Fee Assessment


The 2007 Legislature enacted law (ORS 244.255) that reorganized the funding of the Oregon Government Ethics Commission in response to the public's request to remove the agency from the General Fund and create a more stable funding source.

Adobe Connect Webinars - Presented Live Over the Internet


Man Woman Study at ComputerOGEC is pleased to offer Adobe Connect Webinars as a training option!
These short trainings are presented live by an OGEC trainer using the internet. Several different classes will be presented each month. Anyone may participate in any of these classes, but the number of available spaces is limited. Please register at least one day in advance by emailing OGEC.Training@oregon.gov. Webinars are provided free of charge. OGEC can also provide customized webinar trainings for any group on request.

Online training through iLearn Oregon


OGEC is pleased to offer free online training through iLearn Oregon. Training modules are short, focused, and convenient. There are trainings on several topics, including conflicts of interest, gifts, and executive sessions.

Whether you are a public official or a private citizen, anyone with an email address can take training through iLearn Oregon at no cost. iLearn trainings are available from any internet connected computer.
