Committees and Work Groups
House Bill 2009 created the citizen-led Oregon Health Policy Board (OHPB) to provide oversight for the Oregon Health Authority. The legislation established two permanent committees of the OHPB: The Public Health Benefit Purchasers Committee and the Health Care Workforce. Members for these committees have not been selected yet.
Public Health Benefit Purchasers Committee
 Committee includes individuals who purchase health care for the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB), Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB), Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), a city government, a county government, a special district or any private, nonprofit organization that receives the majority of its funding from the state and requests to participate.
Duties:
- Identify and make specific recommendations to achieve uniformity across all public health benefit plan designs
- Continuous review/reporting to OHPB on progress
- Develop action plan for ongoing collaboration to implement benefit design
- Identify uniform provisions for state and local public contracts for health benefit plans (in collaboration with OHPB) including:
- Steps to implement joint contract provisions
- A schedule for implementation of contract changes
- A review process to protect against unintended cost shifts
Deadlines:
- Oct.1, 2010: Proposals and plans completed
- Dec. 31, 2010: Proposals and plans due to OHPB for possible referral to Legislature

Health Care Workforce Committee
 Committee includes individuals with the collective expertise, knowledge and experience in a broad range of health professions, health care education and health care workforce development initiatives.
Duties:
- Coordinate efforts to recruit, educate, retain quality workforce
- Conduct inventory of all grants and other state resources available for expanding workforce
- Establish goals to guide grants awarded from the Healthcare Workforce Strategic Fund
