2011 Health Reform and Legislative Resources

In 2009, the Oregon Legislature passed significant health reform legislation (House Bill 2009) establishing the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Oregon Health Policy Board (OHPB). Much of the work that preceded the passage of HB 2009 by the Oregon Health Fund Board, its various committees, and staff at OHPR can be found in the 2009 Health Reform and Legislative Resource webpage

Since then, the Oregon Health Policy Board and the Oregon Health Authority have continued efforts for innovative health care reform in Oregon.

In 2011, Governor John Kitzhaber and state lawmakers passed an important legislative package that will make it easier for families and small businesses to purchase health coverage through Oregon's Health Insurance Exchange (Senate Bill 99). They also put forth a proposal to change the way health care services are delivered through the Oregon Health Plan (House Bill 3650). For more information about health system transformation.
