ASC Discharge Data

Reporting

Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) discharge data is reported to CompData, the state’s contractor (via Oregon Healthcare Enterprises) for the data collection.  The dataset includes patient demographics, diagnosis, treatment, and charges for each discharge from Oregon ambulatory surgery centers.  The dataset includes data from hospital-based outpatient surgery centers as well as free-standing ASCs.

Quarterly and annual data files are available in comma-delimited format, accompanied by documentation, file layout, and lookup tables, for calendar years 2009 through the most recent year available – currently 2010.  The number of discharge varies by year, generally around 500,000 records.
