| The Federal High Risk Pool |
|
The Oregon Health Authority recently launched the state's federally funded high-risk insurance pool, allowing people with pre-existing health conditions to purchase medical insurance. The new program will be administered alongside the Oregon Medical Insurance Pool (OMIP). The federal program provides another health insurance option for Oregonians with existing medical conditions who have been denied coverage.
We have added a new Web page on the Federal High Risk Pool.

| Obtaining A Producer Fee |
|
OMIP/FMIP pays a one-time finder's fee in the amount of $75.00 to any licensed Oregon producer who assists a client in completing and submitting an OMIP/FMIP application. The finder's fee will only be paid if the application is accurately completed, accepted and approved by the OMIP/FMIP Third Party Administrator, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. The producer fee will not be paid until the member submits the first month's premium. Below are some guidelines that will assist you in ensuring that an application is properly completed and does not delay your finder's fee. - Please do not have the member send premium in with the application. Premium will be requested when/if the application is accepted.
- Please assist the applicant with filling out the application in its entirety. Ensure applicant answers all questions.
Please remember to have applicant attach the proper documentation: - Certificate of creditable coverage:
If applying to OMIP via the portability route or if requesting credit toward the six month pre-existing condition exclusion. - Proof of Oregon residency:
A person can provide a copy of their Oregon Driver License, a voter registration card, an Oregon income tax return, a dated rental agreement showing current residence, a utility bill with name and current address on it, or any other documentation that may be deemed appropriate by the Administering Insurer, RBCBSO. - Denial letter:
Make sure the application is signed and dated by the applicant.
Make sure the applicant reads and understands the affirmations, understandings, and disclosure authorizations. - Section C:
Section C must now be affirmed by a medical professional.
