- Increase awareness of health disparities;
- Strengthen leadership at all levels for addressing health disparities;
- Improve coordination and utilization of research and outcome evaluations;
- Improve state planning focused on minority health/health disparities;
- Establish or enhance multicultural coalition building efforts within communities of color to collaboratively address health issues impacting minority communities; and
- Promote strategies to improve diversity in the health care workforce.
The current OEI grantees list is available online.
Sponsorship Requests
Community organizations wishing to request a sponsorship may do so at any time. To request a sponsorship, organizations will complete a Sponsorship Request Form that includes information about the organization, the nature of the sponsorship request, and the dollar amount or in-kind support requested.
An electronic Sponsorship Request Form can be obtained by staff receiving verbal/phone requests to send to the contact person, or view the downloadable form by clicking the link below.

Sponsorship Request Review
Sponsorship requests will be reviewed on the fourth Wednesday of each month by OEI staff. We will review a fiscal year-to-date sponsorships report and assess new requests based on the following criteria:
- Racial/ethnic diversity of organizations requesting sponsorship
- Geographic location (within Oregon), representation of urban/rural organizations
- Alignment with equity and/or diversity concepts
- Prior awards to the same organization within the last 12 months
- Amount of request in relation to activity sponsored (reasonable cost for activity)
Requesters can submit their requests anytime up to each month's review, though ideally they would be submitted early enough for OEI to contact the requester in case there are questions. Requests for sponsorship for events that have already occurred will not be awarded.
