The Oregon State Hospital Museum

As part of the Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project, space has been designated in the historic Kirkbride U Building on the Salem campus for a public mental health museum.  In April 2009, the Oregon State Department of Human Services authorized a steering committee comprised of concerned citizens to create a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation to develop a museum in conjunction with the State Hospital.

A 2,500 square foot, volunteer-run museum is scheduled to open in 2012.
