| Welcome to OPUS |
|
OPUS is the name for a group of related web-based computer applications. OPUS supports the programs of the Community Resources Division (CRD) of Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS).
OPUS is designed to meet OHCS data collection and business processing needs jointly developed with service delivery partners. It is available to our partners free of cost. OPUS will eventually encompass all CRD-funded programs, enabling users to enter information once--avoiding duplication and potential errors.
OPUS is managed under the direction of the CADO HOPUS Subcommittee and the OPUS Steering Committee with members from Community Action Agencies (CAAs), their local service partners and one OHCS member who chairs the Steering Committee. The committees function in an advisory capacity for the successful completion of the OPUS project. The committees' meetings provide a forum for considering the department's and partners' information and functionality requirements, for agreeing on the projects' priorities and for monitoring the progress of the projects.
OPUS applications fall into two main categories - those that support energy-related programs and those that support service programs. OPUS is also used by local programs to support hundreds of local programs.
Through 2005, OPUS applications have been used to help over 500,000 individuals in OHCS programs, including over 56,000 seniors and over 192,000 children with Federal, State and local energy payments to families for a total of over $126 million.
