Measure 24: Denturists Allowed to Install Partial Dentures
Salem, OR, December 24, 2002 -- On November 5, 2002, voters passed Ballot Measure 24, amending the Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) to expand licensed denturists’ existing scope of practice to allow them to install partial dentures. The measure became effective December 6, 2002.
The measure does not place additional education or examination requirements on existing licensees or new applicants. If an insurance policy currently covers denture technology services, it will now cover partials.
The ORS will be amended by Legislative Counsel to incorporate the measure’s language expanding the scope of practice at the end of the 2003 Legislative Session.
