  • New rule changes HAS late fees
The Health Licensing Office (Office) filed proposed administrative rules for the Advisory Council on Hearing Aids with the Secretary of State Office, and they have been accepted.

The rules, which you can read here, update the Health Licensing name (it is an Office now, not an agency), and reduce the late fee for a delinquent renewal of registration from a sliding scale to a fixed rate per year up to three years. Permanent administrative rules became effective July 1, 2015.

  • Frequently Asked Questions on tinnitus
The Health Licensing Office (HLO) has received several inquiries regarding tinnitus and hearing aid specialists “treating” the condition with the new technology available in hearing aids with masking functions. The HLO has consulted with the Advisory Council on Hearing Aids and the Oregon Department of Justice.
