Brie Akins
Brie Akins
Ms. Akins has worked in the victim’s advocacy and prevention services fields, serving as the Prevention Program Coordinator for the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force since 2005. She previously worked as Interim Crisis Services Coordinator and Crisis Support Worker at Wellington Sexual Abuse Help Foundation in Wellington, New Zealand; Tutor, Criminology 318: Special Topic – Sexual Violence, Victoria University of Wellington; Volunteer Coordinator, Domestic Violence Services and Sexual Assault Program Coordinator, Portland Women’s Crisis Line; and Coordinator of Sexual Assault Services, Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, Pullman, WA, and Moscow, ID.
 
Ms. Akins also served as a Crisis Line Volunteer, Wellington Women’s Refuge; and on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Funding Advisory Board, Oregon Department of Justice, Crime Victims Assistance Section, among other related experience. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology, Washington State University, Pullman, WA; and a Master’s of Arts in Sociology from Victoria University in Wellington.
