Oregon hospitals submit monthly utilization and financial summaries via the electronic DataBank system. The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) make these files available to the OHPPR at quarterly intervals. Data files contain monthly, aggregate data for each hospital, including utilization and financial information by primary payer for a wide range of hospital services including acute, sub-acute, swing bed, distinct-part units, and home health care.
OHPR has constructed two data files from monthly data provided by the Databank system: a historical data file containing 1994-1998 data and a more current file containing 1999-current data. The current file contains information on a broader range of services; please refer to the Databank Field List (pdf) for a list of variables included in the 1994-1998 and 1999-current periods. This fields list also provides information for individuals using the original Databank data files.
To download the data, click on the file desired, then either a) select “Save this program to disk” at the prompt, then go to the saved file and then run (double-click) to executable file to extract the file, or b) select “Run this program from its current location” at the prompt, then specify a location to which extracted files should be saved.
