It is, in terms of the number of measures and number of dimensions of quality, the most extensive ongoing examination of quality of care ever undertaken in the United States or any major industrialized country worldwide.

United States Department of Health & Human Services
Sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Hospital Compare site provides consumers, health planners and policy makers with information on how well hospitals care for all their adult patients with certain medical conditions. This information helps compare the quality of care hospitals provide.
