RALPH A. YATES, DO - PORTLAND
RALPH A. YATES, DO, Portland - Dr. Yates is a family physician in Portland, Oregon. He is a founder of Columbia Family Medical Associates, P.C., an independent primary care group, and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon. He is team physician for the Portland Winterhawks of the Canadian Hockey League and the University of Portland athletic teams and has an active sports medicine practice involving the management of competitive and recreational athletes. He has a personal interest in asthma, diabetes, and osteoporosis and has given over 200 presentations to medical professionals. He is a volunteer and member of the American Diabetes Association and a recipient of its Award for Outstanding Community Service in 2000. He is the founder and chairman through 2006 of Summit to Surf, which in 2005 raised $318,000.00. He is on the board of directors and currently vice-chair for ADA's Research Foundation. He also sits on the board of director's and is the immediate past chair of that board for Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. A chronic asthmatic, he has successfully raced in seven Ironman competitions.
