DONALD E. GIRARD, MD - PORTLAND
DONALD E. GIRARD, MD, Portland– Dr. Girard is a Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean for Graduate and Continuing Medical Education at OHSU's School of Medicine. He has served on the OHSU faculty since 1975 and is engaged in patient care, teaching and academic pursuits. Dr. Girard has also participated in professional organizations at the state and national levels. Dr. Girard is past president of the Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland, and is a past member of the Oregon Medical Association Executive Committee. He served four years as governor of the American College of Physicians' Oregon Chapter, and has participated in the College nationally. He is also president the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine, and has been active in the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Outside the medical field, Dr. Girard is an enthusiastic cyclist, and collector of antiquarian medical books.
