COMMITTEE/COUNCIL MEMBER VACANCIES
HPP Supervisory Council
HPP Supervisory Council

HPP Supervisory Council

There is one opening on the HPP Supervisory Council. The Oregon Health Professionals Program ( HPP) and the Oregon Medical Board (OMB) are soliciting nominations for persons familiar with chemical dependency and its treatment to serve on the HPP Supervisory Council. A term of service is two years, although Council members may be reappointed to two additional terms.

Per our policy, one member should be a physician who is an addiction specialist, either ASAM or AAAP certified, with MRO experience preferred.  The other member is a public member who would represent consumers.  All of our members, by statute, have to be "familiar with the recognition, intervention, assessment and treatment of persons who are chemically dependent or who have a mental disorder".

HPP is a monitoring program for licensees of the Medical Board with a substance use disorder or mental health condition.  The Supervisory Council is the body responsible for its oversight, including the program administration and supervision of clinical decisions. Council members are appointed by the OMB.

The Supervisory Council meets every two months at the HPP offices located in Tigard. Members may also need to address more urgent case matters periodically by telephone conference and may be called upon to represent HPP at quarterly Board meetings.

Physicians or community members interested in HPP Council service should submit a curriculum vita for review by the current Supervisory Council. The Council members will put forward names for consideration by the Oregon Medical Board at an upcoming meeting. CV’s should be directed to the Oregon Health Professionals Program, 6950 SW Hampton, Suite 130, Tigard, OR 97223-8330. For questions please call the Health Professionals Program at 503-620-9117 or e-mail to h.p.p@state.or.us.
