VOLUNTEER EMERITUS LICENSE (NON-REMUNERATIVE)
APPLYING FOR A VOLUNTEER EMERITUS LICENSE
 
Physicians who have retired from active practice and plan can apply for a Volunteer Emeritus License in Oregon if they wish to volunteer for non-remunerative medical service in a health clinic
 
A “health clinic” is a public health clinic or a health clinic operated by a charitable corporation that mainly provides primary health, dental or mental health services to low-income patients without charge or using a sliding fee scale based on the income of the patient.
 
To apply and obtain a Volunteer Emeritus license:
  • Initial Application fee is waived.
     
  • $50.00 Registration fee needs to be paid at time of application.
     
  • $25.00 Prescribing Monitoring fee needs to be paid at time of application.  (Passed during 2009 Oregon Legislative Session)
     
  • $5.00 Workforce Database fee needs to be paid at the time of application. (Passed during 2009 Oregon Legislative Session)
