Files with No Derogatory Information
If your file has no derogatory information and is NOT required to be reviewed by the Administrative Affairs Committee (AAC), there is no filing or completion deadline date, as licenses are issued on an ongoing basis as files become complete. In order for an applicant to be considered for licensure, the application file must be complete and the applicant must pay an initial registration fee. Upon completion of the application file and receipt by the Board of the initial registration forms and fee, the Board’s Executive Director may grant approval for an unlimited license to be issued.
It is your responsibility to request the required items for your application file and do the necessary follow-up if items are not received to complete your file. Certain reports and verifications must be current (received by the Board no earlier than 90 days prior to the date you filed your application and no more than six months out-of-date from the date received by the Board). As such, some verification forms and reports may need to be re-submitted (e.g., present employment/staff, training and state licensure verifications, as well as AMA, Federation and NPDB/HIPDB reports) to keep your file current.
Files Requiring Review by the Administrative Affairs Committee (AAC)
If you have responded AFFIRMATIVELY to any personal history questions, or you are requesting a waiver of the SPEX examination, your file may be required to be reviewed by the Administrative Affairs Committee (AAC), which meets approximately one month prior to the full Board each quarter. Review by the AAC would require that your file be complete well in advance of the Board meeting, typically about two and a half months prior to the Board meeting. You will be notified of the specific date in writing. The AAC will make a recommendation to the full Board regarding your application.
