Mission and Purpose Mission: Our mission is to provide leadership and guidance in the collaboration, planning and sharing of resources with local, regional, tribal and state Citizen Corps Councils and affiliates so communities will be able to assist themselves and others in the preparation, mitigation, response and recovery from disaster. Intent and purpose: The Council meets quarterly to provide communication, collaboration and coordination with Citizen Corps Councils statewide, as well as make recommendations to Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants related to Citizen Corps. It is not the intent of the Council to regulate the daily workings of any of the volunteer organizations. Rather, the goal is to provide direction and collaboration between the agencies and organizations, and increase consistency of purpose among all involved with the Council. It is the intent of the Council to have a membership that reflects the diverse geographic and cultural nature of the State of Oregon.
