Independent Study Program

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers self-paced courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities and the general public. All are offered free-of-charge to those who qualify for enrollment. See the Independent Study Program (ISP)  for more information.

The Oregon Basic Applied Practices Series consists of several basic knowledge required courses and four (4) elective courses. The intent of the BAPS is to provide training needed by all emergency service providers for successful field operations. Courses in the Professional Development Series (PDS) cannot be used to meet BAPS requirements.

The Professional Development Series includes seven Emergency Management Institute independent study courses that provide a well-rounded set of fundamentals for those in the emergency management profession. Many students build on this foundation to develop their careers.

Emergency Management Degree

Clackamas Community College (CCC) offers an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Emergency Management. There is no "residency requirement" for the college credit. Students pay a "transcript fee" per course rather than a per credit hour fee.
